Three cases of orbital inflammatory disease caused by herpes tester ar
e described. This extremely rare complication occurred between 5 days
and 14 days following the skin eruption and slowly resolved with or wi
thout treatment. Biopsy of a chronic inflammatory lesion on the cheek
of one patient demonstrated a sterile vasculitis and granulomatous lip
onecrosis, a process which mag underlie the orbital disease in these p
atients.
