Extending the work of a previous paper, we calculated the friction and
diffusion coefficients in three-dimensional optical molasses for diff
erent laser configurations and for different atomic transitions in a s
emiclassical approach. We introduce and calculate a potential, and we
present averages and temperatures obtained using this potential in a l
ocalization model. Compared with the usual calculations, this model re
presents an improvement for all cases we have been able to compare wit
h exact calculations or with experimental results.
