Abstract
Magnetostriction experiments have been performed on a TbMn2 polycrysta lline sample. A large volume shrinkage is shown when applying a magnet ic field in the ordered low temperature magnetic phase. It confirms th e occurrence of a field induced first order transition from a Mn antif erromagnetism to a magnetic structure where magnetic and non-magnetic Mn are coexisting.
