STUDIES ON THE NEPALESE CRUDE DRUGS .19. ON THE FLAVONOID AND PHENYLETHANOID CONSTITUENTS OF THE ROOT OF SCUTELLARIA REPENS BUCH-HAM EX D-DON

From the root of Scutellaria repens BUCH.-HAM ex D. DON, two new flavo noids (10, 11) and three new phenylethanoids (12-14) were isolated, to gether with nine known compounds. The structures of 10-14 were shown t o be 5,7,2'-trihydroxy-6,8-dimethoxyflavone, O-5-hydroxy-6,8-dimethoxy flavone-7-gamma l beta-D-glucuronopyranoside, O-2-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxy phenyl)ethyl O-2,3-di-O-acethyl-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 --> 3)-(4-O -trans-feruloyl)-beta-D-glucopyranoside, O-2-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxypheny l)ethyl O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 --> 3)-(4-O-cis-feruloyl)-beta-D- glucopyranoside and O-2-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)ethyl O-2,3 -di-O-a cethyl-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 --> 3)-(4-O-cis-feruloyl)-beta-D-glu copyranoside, respectively, on the basis of the chemical and spectral data.
