Currently, the information available on the ontogeny of the immune-neu roendocrine network is somewhat scant. However, increasing data sugges t a role for prolactin, an important immunoregulatory molecule that re sembles cytokines, in early T-cell development. In this article, Javie r Moreno and colleagues present evidence for this role using the chick en embryo as a model system.
