A COMBINATION OF GASTRIC LYMPHOMA AND KIDNEY ONCOCYTOMA - CASE-REPORTAND REVIEW OF LITERATURE

A combination of gastric lymphoma, renal oncocytoma and double inferio r vena cava is reported. The right renal tumor was incidentally discov ered in the immediate postoperative period after partial gastrectomy f or lymphoma. Imaging investigations (US, CT, IMR) and fine needle biop sy were unable to suggest a reliable preoperative diagnosis of renal m ass and relaparotomy and radical nephrectomy were required. The cogeni tal vascular anomaly had no influence on operative procedures. On the basis of a review of the literature, we suggest that the association b etween gastric lymphoma and renal oncocytoma might be more than a casu al event. This could have diagnostic and therapeutic implications and would allow towards studies for the identification of common factors b etween these two lesions.
