With the use of the multifunctional variational method we have analyze
d the shape and other parameters of a wide-peak autosoliton, which can
be excited in electron-hole or slightly ionized gas plasmas heated by
constant electric current or electromagnetic radiation. We have shown
that this autosoliton exists even in very weakly nonequilibrated plas
mas. In a number of cases the minimal pumping power needed to maintain
this autosoliton is proportional to epsilon(2), whereas the maximum t
emperature of hot carriers in its center, T-max proportional to epsilo
n(-4), where epsilon = l/L much less than 1, L is the ambipolar diffus
ion length, and I is the length of the hot electron energy relaxation.
