Abstract
In this communication, an attempt has been made to develop a modified Nusselt number for a trapezoidal cavity, which can be used for evaluat ion of convective mass transfer in a solar distillation process. The m odified expression has been obtained by regression analysis using expe rimental data and from Simulations for different environment condition s. It is observed that there is a reasonable agreement between experim ental observations and theoretical results calculated by the modified Nusselt number expression for a higher operating temperature range (gr eater than or equal to 60 degrees C).
