Abstract
alpha-tetralones 8a-j can be prepared by radical cyclisation, in the p resence of stoichiometric amounts of lauroyl peroxide, of xanthates 5a -j obtained by an intermolecular addition of substituted S-phenacyl xa nthates 4a-c to various olefins. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
