Abstract
It is shown that the surface displacement response of a general anisot ropic halfspace subjected to an impulsive line load can be obtained by purely algebraic means using a functional equivalence that exists bet ween the time-space and Fourier domain dynamic Green's functions. Illu strative numerical results are presented for the silicon (111) surface that portray the role of bulk waves, surface waves (SAW) and pseudo-S AW. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
