Abstract
Lipoprotein metabolism is involved in atherogenesis. Female sex-hormon es have substantial effects on both lipoprotein metabolism and the ves sel wall. Cholesterol, one of the major lipids in lipoproteins, is bot h the substrate for, and the target of, the steroidal sex hormones.
