Dj. Wolgemuth et al., GENETIC-CONTROL OF CELLULAR PROLIFERATION AND DIFFERENTIATION DURING MAMMALIAN GAMETOGENESIS, Contraception fertilite sexualite, 22(10), 1994, pp. 623-626
Understanding the genetic program that controls the regulation of cell
s progressing through the mitotic and meiotic cell cycles, whether in
response to growth factors, other extracellar signals, or intrinsic pr
ograms, is critical to problems in infertility and in gonadal neoplasi
as. In this study, we present a consideration of important stages of c
ell cycle control in mammalian germ cells and data illustrating the ex
perimental approaches that can be used to determine the pattern of suc
h genes which may be involved in these events.
