Abstract
Endodontic treatment of a permanent madibular first molar and a second molar presumably joined by cementum is presented. This case illustrat es the difficulty in interpreting the vitality testing in such a situa tion. It also suggests possible irreversible pulp injury of a vital he althy tooth caused by extension of the inflammatory periapical pathosi s of the adjacent tooth.
