Polarographic measurements of the suspension of activated carbon - non
modified, with highly increased quantity of oxygen chemically bound t
o the surface by oxidation with nitric acid and oxidized and subsequen
tly heated out in the stream of ammonia - have been carried out in aqu
eous, acetonitrile, methanol and mixed water-methanol LiClO4 solutions
, Investigations were carried out in non stirred and non deoxidized so
lutions. Characteristic current maxima have been obtained on polarogra
phic curves and the relation between the height of those maxima and th
e degree of oxidation of the carbon surface has been proved. It has be
en found out that maxima were better visible and reproducible in aqueo
us solutions.
