Abstract
The longitudinal relationship between adolescents' involvement in fami ly decision making, parental warmth, and marital quality assessed in 1 981 and parent-adolescent attitude dissimilarity assessed in 1987 was examined. The data came from 592 families that participated in the Nat ional Survey of Children. To the extent that adolescents were actively involved in decision making and their relationships with their father s were warm, parent-adolescent attitudes were more similar 6 years lat er.
