Hy. Zhan et al., STUDIES ON THE MECHANISMS OF KRAFT AND MSS-AQ PULPING OF CARIBBEAN PINE AND COMPARISON OF ITS ONE-STAGE KRAFT AND 2-STAGE KRAFT COOKING, Cellulose Chemistry and Technology, 28(2), 1994, pp. 177-182
Caribbean pine is one of the fast-growing conifers planted in South Ch
ina. In oder to evaluate the pulping potential and select suitable pul
ping process conditions, the mechanisms of kraft and MSS-AQ pulping of
Caribbean pine have been carried out. Fiber morphologies, chemical co
mponents and pulp properties have been tested. The results indicate th
at Caribbean pine is a good pulping resource and kraft cooking is pref
erred.
