Abstract
The flow injection method, involving spectrophotometric detection, is proposed for the determination of promazine hydrochloride and thiorida zine hydrochloride. The method is based on the oxidation of phenothiaz ines by iron(III) chloride in hydrochloric acid medium. Linear calibra tion graphs were obtained in the range 10-130 ppm and 10-210 ppm for b oth promazine and thioridazine with sampling rates of 136-148 samples/ h. The presented method was applied to the determination of promazine and thioridazine in pharmaceuticals.
