The kinetic model suggested in the present work was based on fractiona
l weight loss for each pyrolysis step, and TGA and DTA techniques were
used. It was found that as the weight loss increases from 10 to 70%,
the pyrolysis activation energy for hazel nut shell increases from 77.
6 to 123.37 kJ/mol. The pyrolysis reaction was found to be of first-or
der. The reaction rate constant was found to be 2.1 x 10(9) s-1. The k
inetic equation was concluded as: - 1/W0 dW/dt = ke-E/RT (W0 - W/W0)n
