Abstract
The Collider Beauty Experiment (COBEX) is a proposal to build a forwar d detector dedicated primarily to the study of CP violation and other rare phenomena in the decays of beauty particles at the LHC. This pape r describes the experiment, reasons for the choice of aperture and tri ggering options, with emphasis on developments since submission of the Letter of Intent. We conclude with a summary of its anticipated perfo rmance.
