Abstract
Mast cell tumors (cutaneous mastocytoma, cutaneous mastocytosis) are c onsidered rare, uncommon, or infrequent in horses. They most commonly appear as solitary nodules on the head, trunk, neck and limbs.1-3,5,9- 13 This article describes the surgical management of an unusual equine mast cell tumor with previously unreported sequelae. A review of curr ent information regarding mast cell tumors in the horse follows the ca se report.
