Eight pediatric patients with pyoderma gangrenosum are reported and th e literature reviewed. Pyoderma gangrenosum in children often represen ts a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. Associated extracutaneous p athology was present in 25% of patients. Familial nephrotic syndrome, and systemic lupus erythematosus were diseases not previously reported in association with pyoderma gangrenosum in children. The most effect ive treatment reported in the literature was sulphapyridine associated with prednisone. In our patients prednisone and thalidomide was the e ffective treatment.
