Abstract
A 60-year-old female patient receiving epidural buprenorphine for post operative analgesia developed intractable nausea and vomiting not resp onding to antiemetics. Ophthalmic consultation for congestion of the l eft eye was sought and the patient was diagnosed as having phakomorphi c glaucoma. Extracapsular extraction of the left lens was performed af ter primary anti-oedema measures. Glaucoma as a cause of intractable p ostoperative nausea and vomiting should be considered in susceptible p atients.
