CASSANES AND ANTHRAQUINONES FROM CHAMAECRISTA-GREGGII

Roots and bark of Chamaecrista greggii furnished one known and one new cassane, one known and one new bis-norcassane, 16 anthraquinones, bet ulinic acid 3-0-coumarate and pyracenic acid, as well as common plant constituents. Structures of six anthraquinones previously reported fro m this species as new were revised. New as natural products were ydrox y-1,4,6,7-tetramethoxy-2-methylanthraquinone, -dihydroxy-1,6,7-trimeth oxy-2-methylanthraquinone, 1,4,6,7-tetramethoxy-2-methylanthraquinone, 1,5,6,7-tetramethoxy-2-hydroxymethylanthraquinone, roxy-1,5,6-trimeth oxy-2-hydroxymethylanthraquinone and 4-hydroxy-5,6,7-trimethoxy-2-meth ylanthraquinone.
