20 male professional divers underwent a total of 68 MR examinations of
the shoulder, hip and knee joints with follow-up for 16 joint regions
, Cerebral MR was performed additionally in 16 divers. 11 patients sho
wed signal alterations of bone marrow which suggested bone infarct in
9 cases. One patient had unifocal demyelinisation of the left hemisphe
re. In conclusion, MR showed high sensitivity in detecting dysbaric os
teonecrosis.
