A case of squamous cell carcinoma of the maxillary antrum is presented
in which autopsy examination revealed widespread disseminated disease
including metastatic deposits in the unusual sites of the myocardium
and skin. Apart from the skin deposit the metastases were clinically u
nsuspected. This case demonstrates the role of the autopsy in the stud
y of malignancy and the possible effects of local disease control on t
he natural history of the disease process.
