An experimental facility and a procedure for investigating the atomic
dynamics of multicomponent melts by the method of slow-electron scatte
ring are described. Potassium-oxygen systems with impurity concentrati
ons of 1.8, 5.1, and 8.5 at. % at a temperature of 550 K, along with p
ure potassium at 340, 440, and 550 K, are investigated. The coefficien
t of diffusion of oxygen in potassium and the coefficient of potassium
self-diffusion are determined. The diffusion characteristics of the s
ystem are discussed.
