A simple linear chain model is used to calculate the phonon dispersion
curves for a superlattice composed of one layer of GaSe and one layer
of InSe alternatively stacked along the c-axis. The resultant acousti
c modes are essentially averages of the two constituents. Most optical
modes are found to be confined in either GaSe layers of InSe layers.
However, some low energy-optical modes have contributions from the two
constituents.
