Abstract
Activation of the NO-cGMP pathway or adenosine receptors depresses rev ersibly synaptic transmission in the hippocampus. Here we demonstrate, using the selective Al receptor antagonist DPCPX, a convergence in th e mechanisms of action of the NO donor SNAP, the cGMP phosphodiesteras e inhibitor zaprinast and adenosine.
