C. Benslama et al., REPORT OF A CASE OF RECURRENT SPONTANEOUS HYPOTHERMIA (SHAPIRO SYNDROME), La Semaine des hopitaux de Paris, 70(31-32), 1994, pp. 947-950
A case of recurrent spontaneous hypothermia in a patient with corpus c
allosum agenesis (Shapiro syndrome) is reported. Mild diabetes insipid
us was also a feature. Bromocriptine reduced the rate of occurrence an
d severity of hypothermic episodes, whereas antiepileptic agents were
ineffective. Several etiopathogenic hypotheses are discussed in the li
ght of this case.
