Abstract
Many CAD/CAM systems use linear interpolation in the generation of num erical control toolpaths to approximate noncircular curves or profiles that are presented by a large number of points. This method induces p rocessing problems when the dataset is large and overdetermined. The p aper introduces a method of generating an NC toolpath with an arc spli ne and reducing the overdetermined data simultaneously.
