Abstract
The effectiveness of a diagnostic method for both ion temperature and ion minority concentrations, based on propagation of Ion Bernstein Wav es (IBW), is analysed theoretically and verified experimentally. The m ethod is based on a comparison between wave vector measurements, obtai ned with an interferometric system, and theoretical dispersion relatio ns.
