Ma. Providenti et al., SELECTED FACTORS LIMITING THE MICROBIAL-DEGRADATION OF RECALCITRANT COMPOUNDS, Journal of industrial microbiology, 12(6), 1993, pp. 379-395
The focus of this review is to examine some of the reasons biodegradat
ion may not take place in the environment even though its occurrence i
n the laboratory has been demostrated. Some approaches for dealing wit
h chemical persistence will be discussed. In addition, the potential o
f bioremediation as an in situ clean-up technology will be considered.
