The tetrameric flavoenzyme 2,4-pentadienoyl-CoA reductase has been cry
stallized from solutions containing polyethylene glycol as precipitant
. The crystals grow in the monoclinic space group C2 with unit-cell di
mensions a = 160.2, b = 120.2, c = 95.3 Angstrom, beta = 99.0 degrees.
The packing parameter V-M is 2.3 Angstrom(3) Da(-1) (Matthews paramet
er) for four monomers per asymmetric unit. Complete data sets to about
2.9 Angstrom resolution have been collected.
