Abstract
The alkaloids codeine,7,8-dihydrocodeine, brucine and strychnine, when adsorbed on Pt/silica (EUROPT-1) induce enantioselectivity and enhanc e the rate of hydrogenation of the carbonyl function in methyl pyruvat e and in butane-2,3-dione.
