Abstract
The hexafunctional initiator C-6[(CH2)(2)p-C6H4CH(Cl)Me](6) is synthes ized by Fe(eta-C5H5)(+) induced hexabenzylation of C(6)Me(6) followed by regiospecific acetylation, NaBH4 reduction and chlorination, and al lows the living Cationic polymerization of styrene which yields hexaar m star-shaped polymers.
