Abstract
A tetrapodal calix-4-resorcinarenethiol has been immobilised in a gold -thiol monolayer; tile layer shows strong selectivity for some adsorba tes from dilute solutions and the non-adsorption from bulk solutions b y related calix-4-resorcinarenes may be accounted for on the basis of an X-ray crystal structure.
