Abstract
Single crystals high pressure polymorph of yttria was synthesized for the first time using a link - type cubic anvil apparatus. Crystal stru cture was refined from single crystal data. High pressure polymorph wa s confirmed as a monoclinic phase. Lattice parameters of the high pres sure polymorph at room temperature and ambient pressure were determine d as follows: a = 13.8714 angstrom, b = 3.4487 angstrom, c = 8.5862 an gstrom, beta = 100.12-degrees.
