Abstract
The effects of environmental factors such as light illumination, black and white substrates, salinity, temperature and hydrostatic pressure on larval settlement of the reared barnacle Balanus amphitrite were ex amined. Settlement was found to be sensitive to the light intensity an d color of substrates, and was observed over a wide range of salinity, temperature and hydrostatic pressure.
