H. Stefan et al., PRESURGICAL, MULTIMODAL LOCALIZATION OF E PILEPTIC FOCI - FUNCTIONAL AND MORPHOLOGICAL TECHNIQUES INCLUDING INTENSIVE MONITORING MEG EEG AND IMAGING/, Nervenheilkunde, 13(7), 1994, pp. 339-345
The most important preconditions for a successful epilepsy surgery pro
gram are sufficient feasibilities for the localization of the epilepto
genic brain tissue. In addition to the localization of the focal epile
ptic activity the spatial correlation to functionally important brain
regions has to be defined. The ''Erlangen Presurgical Epilepsy Program
'' provides continuous day and night intensive EEG-video-monitoring, m
easurement of interictal and ictal SPECt, brain metabolism, volumetric
MRI and multichannel MEG. In this present contribution a special emph
asis is given to methodological aspects of multichannel MEG-recordings
and the results of this experimental technology.
