Abstract
The propagation of flame over the surface of polymer is investigated a nd the role of radiative heat transfer in the process studied. The rol e of radiative heat transfer is shown to be insignificant for opticall y transparent flames. For the optically dense flames the radiative hea t transfer can play a significant role, especially close to the limit of combustion.
