PENILE CARCINOMA

The incidence of penile carcinoma in Central Europe is small. Concerni ng differential diagnosis, well known precancerous diseases have to be separated from benign penile tumors. The diagnosis of penile cancer c an only be confirmed by biopsy. The possibility of organ preservation by ND:YAG-laser treatment in the early stage of penile cancer is quite promissing. In accordance with the stage, partial or total penectomy is the treatment of first choice. The results of palliative treatment (chemotherapy/irradiation) in advanced stage of penile cancer are poor .
