D. Brkovic et al., P170 GLYCOPROTEIN EXPRESSION - A POSSIBLE PROGNOSTIC FACTOR FOR RENAL-CELL CARCINOMA, Tumordiagnostik & Therapie, 15(5), 1994, pp. 168-170
In a prospective study the expression of P170 glycoprotein was examine
d in 28 renal cell carcinomas using the monoclonal antibodies C219 and
265/F4. The correlation to clinical parameters revealed, independent
of other prognostic factors like TNM-classification or tumor grade, a
shortened survival and time to progression for patients with P170 glyc
oprotein negative carcinomas. Therefore, the postoperative immunohisto
chemical analysis of the P170 glycoprotein may offer an useful tool to
identify patients with poor prognosis and furthermore give implicatio
ns for the use of a chemotherapy in case of P170 negative carcinomas.
