Abstract
Highly symmetrical, shell-like van der Waals particles have been studi ed. Based on the pair potential approximation of the total energy of t he particle, analytical formulae have been derived for the particle si ze dependence of the cohesive energy, the surface energy, and the isot ropic surface stress. The results can be summarized by one uniform equ ation.
