A. Aboulseoud et al., A SOLVENT-EXTRACTION STUDY OF THE THERMODYNAMICS OF P-FLUOROANILINE AND OF THE PROTON IONIZATION OF THE P-FLUORO ANILINIUM ION, Revue Roumaine de Chimie, 39(7), 1994, pp. 757-762
The distribution coefficients of p-fluoroaniline between a petroleum e
ther fraction and aqueous sodium chloride solutions were determined at
different temperatures. The activity coefficients of the amine in aqu
eous sodium chloride solutions and the salting coefficients were deter
mined at different temperatures. The results conform with the Debye th
eory of salt effects. The effect of sodium chloride on the proton ioni
zation of the p-iodoanilinium ion was studied at different temperature
s, by a modified distribution method. Attention was directed to the ch
oice of the extracting solvent, the purity of the amine, and the analy
tical method. K(m), K(o), (K(b))m, K(b))o, DELTAG-degree, DELTAH-degre
e and DELTAS-degree were evaluated for the proton ionization of the p-
fluoroanilinium ion.
