Abstract
We characterize experimentally the wrinkling law of flame fronts by tu rbulence through plotting, in scale space, their wrinkle trajectories. The law's scale invariance is shown by a similarity extended to all f ronts and all scale ranges, which provides a unified description of wr inkled and fractal flames. These results confirm a previous analysis o f scale-invariant laws in this system, provide a characterization of t he wrinkling laws and relativize the concept of fractal as a tool for studying form-generating phenomena.
