Calcium phosphate coatings containing carbonate apatite were deposited
on pure titanium plate by an electrochemical method in the electrolyt
es containing different amounts of Ca and P with and without trishydro
xyaminomethane, a pH buffer. Results suggest that addition of pH buffe
r into the electrolyte has a pronounced effect on the amount of produc
ts on the titanium electrode, whereas the composition of the products
is nearly independent of the Ca/P ratio in the electrolyte.
