Y. Tanabe et al., MILD, EFFECTIVE AND SELECTIVE METHOD FOR THE SILYLATION OF ALCOHOLS USING SILAZANES PROMOTED BY CATALYTIC TETRABUTYLAMMONIUM FLUORIDE, Tetrahedron letters, 35(45), 1994, pp. 8409-8412
The presence of catalytic amounts (similar to 0.02 equiv.) of tetrabut
ylamonnium fluoride (TBAF) significantly promoted the silylation of al
cohols using a variety of available silazanes under mild conditions wi
th high chemoselectivity, wherein the choice of silazanes allowed an a
lternative method for the powerful silylation of various kinds of alco
hols or the highly regioselective silylation of primary alcohols.
