J. Mukherjee et al., CRYPTOCOCCUS-NEOFORMANS INFECTION CAN ELICIT PROTECTIVE ANTIBODIES INMICE, Canadian journal of microbiology, 40(10), 1994, pp. 888-892
An IgG1 monoclonal antibody generated from a mouse infected with Crypt
ococcus neoformans modified the course of intravenous cryptococcal inf
ection in A/J mice by prolonging survival and reducing lung fungal bur
den, brain mass, and serum polysaccharide levels. The results demonstr
ate that C. neoformans infection can elicit useful antibodies.
