P. Ambrosi et al., THE GLIDING-SHADOW METHOD AND ITS APPLICATION IN THE DESIGN OF A NEW FILM BADGE FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF THE PERSONAL DOSE-EQUIVALENT H-P(10), PTB-Mitteilungen, 104(5), 1994, pp. 334-338
A novel design principle for filters of a personal dosemeter badge, th
e gliding-shadow method, is presented which allows the angular depende
nce of the dosemeter response to be considerably reduced. This method
has been applied to design a two-element film dosemeter. The new film
dosemeter is capable of measuring H-p(10) for photons with energies ra
nging from 17 keV to 1250 keV and angles of incidence up to 75 degrees
with a maximum deviation of less than +/-40% using a linear combinati
on as the dose calculating algorithm.
