The kinetics of H/H exchanges of Re(CO)H(2)L(2)(NO) complexes (L = PCy
(3) (1), P(iPr)(3) (2), PMe(3) (3), P(OiPr)(3) (4)) were determined by
variable-temperature (40-90 degrees C) saturation transfer H-1 NMR ex
periments. From the kinetic data and MO calculations, an intramolecula
r dihydride/dihydrogen H/H exchange mechanism is proposed.
